We hope you’ve had a great experience using Teleport for Startup Cities so far! We’ve gotten a whole lot of awesome feedback from our users and based on it will keep improving the app as we go along. We started out with the 100 most startup friendly cities around the world for you to explore and compare, but we never planned on sticking to just that!
You might have noticed that there is a way you can vote for your favourite cities that aren’t in the app yet. In your city results list, you can see a little search icon in the top right corner. All you have to do is search for a city that’s not in our top 100 and we’ll not only put it into the ranking of cities we’re planning to add, but we’ll also let you know on which place it stands!
You can also choose to be notified when your city has made the list so that you don’t miss out on the arrival of any of your favourite locations.
Every once in a while we’ll have a look at the top cities we have accumulated from your votes, and add them to the app as new startup cities. This week, we added five, and the winners are...
Minneapolis is known for its cleanliness and greenery, and constantly ranks as one of the best cities to live in in the U.S. The thriving art scene, outdoor culture and friendly atmosphere make it a worthy candidate in our list.
St. Louis, the largest city in Missouri, known as the “gateway to the West”, is at the top of our list for its great startup funding and salaries, making it an excellent destination for startup people.
Phoenix is located in one of the most colorful deserts in the world, and is great for the more adventurous travelers with its unique landscape and numerous hiking trails. It’s a very car-centered city, so make sure you’ve got a way to get around!
Kuala Lumpur is considered to be Asia's green capital, with a suburban feel with unexpected exotic surprises behind every corner. It has a booming economy and is not only a financial centre in the Far East, but also a unique and diverse city for tourism and traveling.
Guatemala City is the center of economic activity in the country and the largest city in all of Central America. With a comfortable weather all year round, a good selection of developers, competitive low costs, and closeness in time zone and distance to major startup cities such as San Francisco, it is an ideal base of operations for new startups.
Do you have a city you feel like should be in the list as well? Go and give it a vote inside the app and who knows, maybe your favourite location will be in the next batch of cities we add!
