Teleport is pleased to announce that Parag Khanna will be joining team Teleport as an advisor, assisting us with product development and communicating our message to the world.
Parag Khanna is a leading global strategist, world traveler, and best-selling author. He is a CNN Global Contributor and Senior Research Fellow in the Centre on Asia and Globalisation at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore.
Parag’s latest book is Connectography: Mapping the Future of Global Civilization (published in April 2016 – now available on Amazon), which portrays the rise of mega-cities and infrastructure networks as the foundations of an emerging 21st century world order. He launched the book at the main TED conference this past February.
“I was just struck with the simplicity of the foundational message of Parag’s new book: we have been drawing maps wrong,” said Sten Tamkivi, co-founder & CEO of Teleport. “The lines that we spend too many pixels on are usually the ones separating people – the legacy borders that we should care much less about. The lines that actually matter are the ones connecting people living in ever-growing cities: airline routes, fiber optics, energy transfer.”
“There is just such a click between Parag’s extensive research and Teleport’s mission to give people practical tools to travel on connecting lines to cross the imaginary borders, that we just had to find a way to work together,” added Sten.
Currently based in Singapore, Parag has traveled to more than 100 countries and is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum. Considering the recent rapid expansion of our user base and growing products suite to help people find their best place to live and work, he is indeed a perfect addition to Teleport’s vision and team.
“Teleport represents the vanguard of empowering millennials’ global mobility at a time when there are shortages of skilled workers that need to be filled and also a growing number of ambitious and livable cities attracting talent. The stars are truly aligned for Teleport’s success,” said Khanna.
We’re looking forward to aligning our visions and helping people seamlessly move between cities around the world.
