Nursery in Scotland is free from 3 years. Children go 16h per week for free, which is 3hr 10 min a day. There are typically two shifts. One from 8:30 until 11:40 and an afternoon shift from 12:20 until 3:30 (at least in my nursery in Edinburgh).
If you want to pay extra, it is ~ 18 GBP per day, but there are some deductions and tax credits depending on your income (if you're UK or EU citizen).
There are also private nurseries, and for them, you need to pay, however, for most of them, you can get some money from the government (for those 18hrs per week). You pay nursery every week or month, while you get reimbursement from the government once per semester.
For schools, there are private and public schools; private are expensive but public are free. Children go to school from between age 4.5 and 5.5. My daughter will start school next August, and she will be 4.5 at that time.
For English lessons, do not worry about that, children pick it up very easy without any hassle within few months. My daughter learned it in the nursery.
Best and good luck!
