Hi, I'm curious which websites (other than Airbnb and Craigslist) are best for finding a furnished and not too expensive apartment in Vancouver for about half a year, plus/minus a few months?
I hope you have some ideas! Thanks
Hey Dawn,
I can only share my own experience when moving to Vancouver some years ago as I was also looking for a short-term furnished housing to settle in and look around. I ended up finding the best fit for myself for a few months over at http://www.makeyourselfathome.com and only have great things to remember from the stay.
Cheers,Siim
Hi Dawn,
Short term rentals are a bit of a sticky spot right now with the city looking to heavily restrict and regulate AirBnBs. You can look at Craigslist, Kijiji and padmapper. Those are the three most used sites. Be very wary of rental scams. With a vacancy rate below 1%, people can be taken advantage of quite easily. Actually, a great place to look right now would be Port Moody. The Skytrain just opened up out there in December so it will be affordable and convenient. You could probably get a great pd overlooking the mountains. Good luck!!
Try http://rentitfurnished.com and Unique Accommodations. Also, PadMapper is a good consolidation site that combines multiple sources into a single Google maps interface. Kijiji.ca is another site similar to Craigslist that seems to be very popular in parts of Canada. Kijiji.ca - here's the section for short-term, furnished rentals.
NOTE: I also echo the warning about scammers & short term rentals. If it seems to be too good to be true (location + size + price) it probably is!
hi dawn its tough and very grungy when you come look me up i have spare room you can stay at until you find a place i love liverpool
