A lot of the job adverts say fluent in English and I just wondered if you also needed to be fluent in Greek
I think that you can work in Athens without speaking Greek fluently.
I do not believe that the knowledge of Greek is needed in the workplace, but in your everyday life you may need
A lot of people are working without being fluent in Greece. It depends on the kind of job. Tourism businesses usually are those who employ non greek speaking personel. Bear in mind that unemployment is very high and as a result remunarations are on the low side.
There are several shops that are dealing only with tourists. Greek are not required for such cases, but they will help in your evrryday life, when you will have to collaborate with locals for your food, clothes, etc..
Yes, you must be a Greek speaker BUT you can check by sending your cv and informing that you don’t know the local language because Some times in very touristic places they hire foreign people, so I suggest you to give it a try!!
Well. There are a lot of shops especially in tourist places like islands that do not require knowledge of greek language. But i think these are few in number. It would be better to come in touch with the employer in order to clear exactly whtat they want. In most cases speaking greek is an advantage
Hi, quick answer is not easy. It's possible only in the touristic area of Monastiraki . In the islands it is very easy to work only with English , especially during the summer season.
