Can someone work in Buenos Aires using English as language?

Hello everyone,i am from Greece and lately i am interested in moving to Buenos Aires.So,is it possible to find an english speaking job(web development)?Until i get to the point of speaking some basic Spanish,would i be able to live and communicate about basic everyday stuff(super market,kiosk,public services and more...)?

If anyone could provide me some links about job finding in Bs As or more informations would be extremely appreciated.

Hey there! I'm a Buenos Aires local but I'm well connected with the expat community. I would recommend you to first try to contact fellow Greeks in BA. I've seen people from Serbia to Venezuela adapt and find job opportunities faster thanks to these expat networks. You should also contact your embassy or consulate for useful information. When it comes to English in BA, a lot of people understand it or can speak it relatively fluently. This is usually limited to a certain social class unfortunately, so you won't be able to speak English in everyday situations with strangers-limited Spanish with some English will be enough. I recommend you start using apps like Duolingo to get a basic idea of the language. There are many groups on FB that cater to expats in BA: search for extranjeros en Buenos Aires/ expatriados Buenos Aires or something along those lines. The job market right now is not ideal but you might be able to find something in your field because English is quite common in web development. As an Argentinian I would say that you would need some basic Spanish to communicate about basic everyday stuff. In terms of work, I think it is possible to find an English speaking job in web development, but they are not the most common since it is quite difficult that all the people in a company have a good English level here.

Yes, in Buenos Aires, there is a dynamic scene of companies that can be friendly to an English speaking job.

If you live in downtown Buenos Aires, you can manage the daily routine in English. However, if you go beyond the tourist areas of the country, then you are not going to find English speakers. So, a basic level of Spanish is recommended.
