Hi Vanessa.
Salaries in Argentina are usually discussed in terms of monthly salary, always making a differentiation between gross salary (salario bruto) and net salary (salario neto, what's left after taxes and such).
They are highly variable due to high inflation rates (and I advice you plan for this with your employers, if possible asking them to commit to bi-yearly updates per inflation).
Those factors may account for the numbers you've gotten.
For reference, a minimum salary today is ARS 16875 (gross).
Take in count you also have a 13th salary divided in two payments by year (half in July and half in December), and two weeks paid vacation time by law.
That said, openqube.io conducts a poll of IT workers twice a year which includes a lot of info, including salaries.
The last one was December 2019 - January 2020.
For the Data Scientist / Data Engineer post, the average reported salaries are: Junior ARS 70,000 - Semi-Senior $94,352 - Senior $100,000. Which makes sense. There are all net salaries, so that's what you have after taxes.
That would be considered a good salary. It might be higher in Buenos Aires city. I'm not a family man but I think it might be short to support four children. You need to find out more.
Hope that helps you.
