Good place to live for mid 20's?
Hyde park and Lincoln park are both decent area’s. Lincoln park is better if you like to socialize and frequent bars. Both offer relatively low rent costs though, can easily find a 1 bedroom apt for under 1400 or less.
Mid 20's in age? Logan Square, Pilsen, Wrigleyville... all depends on what your lifestyle is like, where you work or go to school, etc.
Neighborhoods have personalities so it really depends on what you like to do for fun, the pace you like, priorities in terms of access (i.e. is transportation more important than good restaurants or culture or whatever). Narrowing that down will help you find the best fit.
Forest Park/Oak Park is a nice option if you are looking for city lifestyle but need to save money. They are about 8 miles west of downtown, but are right on two of the main CTA lines, so you can get to and from the City with ease. Both have lively downtown areas and plenty of living options. Rent is anywhere from 800-1500 for very decent one person studios/apartments.
