How happy are you?

Hi, my native city is Bucharest so I'm sorry that this question is vague. I'm asking since I might want to move back. I've lived here as a very young person but never worked in Bucharest. I know the city very well but cannot pretend to be able to understand the job market. In general, would you say that your workplace situation in Bucharest is a barrier to your happiness and if so how? Have nepotism, corruption, low waged or other things in the workplace and/or public services such as hospitals significantly affected your happiness? Why are so many of our co nationalism attracted to moving abroad and would you say that those who do are generally better off? Thank you in advance for any replies.

I've been living and working in Bucharest for 10 years now. All the negative factors you are mentioning are still existing if you seek employment in the public sector. However, if it is a multinational company that will be your employer, there is a high probability that you will have a fair treatment and opportunity based on your competencies.
About living in Bucharest: it has certainly improved in the last years, and by this I mean that public services are better, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. If politics influence your happiness factor, you may have seen the huge protests earlier this year because there are things to improve also in this area.
