Is Barcelona a pleasant city to live in?

I found Barcelona absolutely lovely to visit, but how do you enjoy living there? Any pros and cons I should be aware of?

Barcelona it's a very nice place to live. I think it's very comfortable and interesting. You have sea and mountains. Good public transport, good food and nice people to meet. A lot of creative activities around a lot of them free. It's an amazing city.

Lovely. Great weather all year around and close to skiing, hiking, biking, beaching. Also very cheap compared to other big EU cities. Great place to dine out, and drink... Cons: tourists in specific areas, and there are constantly tons of cars on the streets which creates an awful air quality, especially during winter. Not something you would notice as a weekend tourist. Also lacks pleasant parks in the center (there are a few though). From a professional point of view, the city stil lacks the talent & creative momentum of other vibrant EU cities, but it's getting there quite quickly.

Also a great city to discover the rest of Europe since there are several cheap quick flights daily, and the airport is very nice and close to the city center.

I think Barcelona is a great place to live. It's a nice mix of local neighborhoods and tourist areas, the food is amazing and the people are friendly. You can be near the beach or inland, and the weather is fairly decent (a little too humid for me in the summer, but otherwise pleasant and sunny most of the time). There's quite a range of apartments to choose from and rental prices are reasonable if you stay 6+ months. Transportation is easy - buses, trams and metro are all convenient. To me, the only downside is that Barcelona is very crowded and busy all the time. Also, there are lots of people who speak English but I sense life would be easier if you speak fluent Spanish or Catalan.

Barcelona has something for everyone. Diverse culture, reasonable rent, outdoor activities, art, and don't even get me started on the weather. Cons is finding a job and legally getting settled here is sometimes a challenge. However, if you are serious about moving here, there are websites filled with useful information about getting settled here. Social Media groups are also very helpful as people often share their individual experience about living in BCN.
