I think you can find a job in one of many private schools. It can be a primary school, high school or university. I had foreign instructors in primary school and university. However I'm not sure if middle of the year is a good time for it since schools hired their instructors before the beginning of the school year.
The ideal situation is to try to post around - maybe in schools, cafeterias, pubs, where youngsters meet, an advertisement offering private English classes. there is a huge demand in Istanbul, and you can charge between 50 - 100 TL for a lesson. That is pretty much enough to save for a couple of good trips;)
