Hey guys,
I have an interesting history. I grew up in Delaware, studied at university in Boston, moved to LA, New York, Miami and haven't really made the best friends or connections to feel like I have a good home base.
For the past few years I've been a tech entrepreneur and things were going well for a while in Bay Ridge, NY - I had a studio apartment and was getting a lot going, but I left it because I didn't really like NY anymore. The weather and people were terrible. It was too populated and overly expensive for as dirty as it was. I moved down to Miami for a few months and stayed in a co-living house. Miami was very nice and I enjoyed the city and people very much. However, many people spoke spanish and the tech scene wasn't as evolved as I was hoping for.
I've always wanted to move out to San Francisco, but I also know that it's incredibly expensive and the tech scene is changing there. After I was in Miami, I went back to LA shortly to see if I could get my business up and running out there. I didn't get it going as fast and ended up back in Delaware for 6 months. It was the worst period in my life and I am still somewhat recovering. I'm back in New York now, but I have been staying in Airbnb's and sleeping on couches for a few months. I have tried to get a job but nothing has really worked out. I recently landed a client and am considering making a move somewhere, but I don't know where to go.
I've never really felt so lost and don't have many people to talk to about it. I'm really just trying to work on my ideas and have a decent place to do so. I don't think NY is the right place for me, but I don't know if I should go back to Miami or out to San Francisco. I'm confused about what will be best for me and I need some help. Is anyone familiar with the trends in tech and with these different states? Also, with the terrible political situation, I'm not even sure I want to be in the US anymore. What other cities can I go to that have good access to resources, a vibrant tech scene, surrounding water, and nice weather?
Thanks for any help!
