Pros and cons of moving to Dublin?

What are the primary pros and cons of moving to Dublin as an expat? What are your favorite things about living there? What makes it better than other European cities? What could be better?

How are things like safety, ease of assimilating and making friends, cost of living compared to earning potential, and so on?

Lots of jobs in IT industry, very friendly people, one of the most bike friendly cities (I'm not even thinking of buying a car here ), lots of pubs, which are full of people of all ages.
Biggest con is really finding a place to live. It's very expensive and it's hard to find a decent place.

I love my native city of Dublin for its history, culture, witty and friendly people, proximity to the sea and mountains, but I would strongly discourage anyone from moving here right now. The housing situation is out of control and getting worse and worse. If you're not rich you will end up desperate and probably sharing an overpriced room with 3 people. If you are well paid, eg. in tech, you will be able to find somewhere overpriced but you'll be gentrifying the city and forcing out locals. Unfortunately our government are mostly landlords and so will do nothing to regulate rent & housing. Sorry.
