Recommend a restaurant, café or activity to do

Hi dear locals,
I wanna ask you to recommend a good restaurant or/and café (better your favorite one, for sure :))

Idea: My boyfriend and me are going to marry in your great city and have invited about 4-5 friends to spend this day with us. No big ceremonies or celebration, just a cozy company with the closest people. We’re going to drink some coffee+cakes in the afternoon, than walk through the city and have a delicious dinner in the evening (so we need two places: café & restaurant).
Criteria: cozy & friendly, healthy & tasty food, not posh, not a pub, in the centre

So, a kind of place where you like to read books, enjoy the time and meet best friends

PS. If you also suggest us an original place to go for a walk / make pictures / have some fun and amusement (also indoor, but except Tivoli), it would be twice great :))

Hi Zhenya,

Your plan sounds great. Well, what I can recommend you is:

For café:

1. Paludan: is a very cozy place, full of young people - since is close to one of the U. of Copenhagen campus. It used to be a book shop in the past, and they still sell some old books in their basement, besides, the decoration of this place is based in old books all around.
   There you can have coffee,tea, beer, smoothies, dishes and cakes. They are not the best cakes though, but still good and the place is worth to visit.

2. La Glace conditoriet: this is such an amazing place. All the decoration is French inspired in an old fashion style. They have amazing cakes and pies, coffee, tea and so on. If you are more into having a good cake, I'd definitely recommend this place.

For Restaurants I can recommend you some I've tried + a list from the top 10 in Danish Food:
1. Copenhagen Street Food: If you want something very relaxed and cozy, this is a must. Even though, most of the times is crowded, in CPH street food you can experience truck food from all over the world (with vegan and vegetarian options as well). Have beer, wine and sit around the fires in front of the channel with an amazing sight of Copenhagen.

1. Väkst: this a very cozy and nice restaurant. Väkst means 'green house' and they do have one inside. All the food is prepared with organic ingredients in very high quality of concept cuisine. I advise you to make reservations for this one. The food and experience at this place are very good.

2. The Royal Garden: This is a Chinese food restaurant. Even though they don't have Danish food, the Royal Garden is very cozy and the food is very good as well. Try the jasmine tea, if you go there

Here are my favorites:

For cafe:

• Paludan like Rita already said

• The American Pie Company has a limited seating place but delicious pies, both savory and sweet. Check the opening hours because they close early

• The Living Room. Haven't been myself but has really good reviews on Foursquare

• Kalaset. Great pancakes and atmosphere

For restaurants:

• Bæst is one of my favorites for the best pizza in CPH. They reinterpret it with some different toppings and they make their charcuterie and mozzaralla & burrata cheese in house which means delicious antipasti. Reservation required. It is also next to a brewery called Brus.

• Madklubben Bistro-De-Luxe is also cozy relaxed atmosphere with an alacarte menu, delicious food. You don't have to choose 5 or 7 course meal there Again reservation highly recommended.

• Osteria 16 is a place that I love. So cozy and warm with some indian/italian antipasti. Something new every day and they are serving 8 dishes to share. So fresh and delicious. Reservation required.

• Oysters & Grill is an absolute favorite of mine if you like seafood. You order from various kind of seafood dishes by gram to share. They also serve steak for non fish lovers. Very relaxed atmosphere.
  Again reservation required, it is a thing for CPH, people love planning but the good thing is you can make a reservation online from almost every restaurant's website.

I've tried to write e.g. "Nyhavn" and it didn't work, but I've got good a big list of coffee and vegetarian places in Copenhagen – it works and looks really attractive
