I'm planning to go to Lisbon in September and stay there for a year and do my master degree in University of Lisbon.
What are the best areas to live in the city? I heard Alfama is pretty good...but I need to heard fron you, guys.
What about the living costs? How much would it be per month?
Thanks a lot
Vic
Yes! Alfama and Mouraria, are one of the best old neighborhoods in Lisbon, very tipical and friendly. Also this new Parques das Nações - Expo, the old expo 98 is very good but the prices are higher! You have the best hotels and shopping and also the river. I guess that if you pay a rent of 600 - 700€ medium for an appartment and 150€ of food per month plus the, electricity/gas/water more 100€ more or less. I guess 800 to 900 € for shure. is that high for you? Regards
It really depends on what you are looking for. But don't expect something under 500-600€ without utilities.
Hi, i am looking for an aparment in Lisbon. What do you think of Almada and Barreiro? Can you please share websites where to start to search for an apartment, possibly in English?
Thank you
I am thinking of moving to Lisbon. Can you please share links to apartments buy/search engines? Preferably those that operate not only in Portuguese but also in English.
What do you think of districts that are on the other sites of the river like Almada or Barreiro?
Thank you!

I strongly recommend living in Olivais. Lots of public transportation, bus, metro and train. Affordable rent and lots of green places.

Alvalade, 250/300€ per month for room. Alvalade is the place in the world.
