We currently live in South Carolina where it's VERY hot and humid in the summer. We are looking to relocate to either UT, CO (Colorado Springs or Grand Junction), or ID (Boise). I'm a photographer who currently has a little studio in our house. I plan to continue with that (or possibly get a little commercial space) and my husband is considering retiring early.
We don't know much about Utah (yet), so we're wondering: which UT cities / towns have the best downtowns that are also pretty pet friendly?
What we're looking for
- a good size city that's not too crowded (you don't have to sit in traffic or weave thru people when walking downtown).
pretty pet friendly (I have two Corgis who love to go out and meet people)
a nice downtown area with restaurants and shops, but isn't overly crowded all the time (so I can walk with my dogs)
a place that's not too humid in the summer (we've found Colorado in July to be amazing) compared to SC
an area that gets snow in the winter, but doesn't have temps below freezing the entire winter
an area that has access to mountain biking or bike paths
a town / city that has paved trail systems in the town / city that's safe for walking my dogs
a city / town that has a lot of great scenery / views of the mountains
