What are the best sites for finding medium-term rentals in Malta?

Hi, I'm planning on spending 2-3 months in Malta from January, and I'm looking for a furnished apartment to rent for that period. Do you know any good websites other than Airbnb? What do locals use? Maybe some Facebook groups with short-term sublets or the like?

Hi!

I would be a bit wary of Airbnb. Try flatscanner.net. You deal directly with the owner/landlord so maybe you can haggle a price.

Hi, locals use Maltapark.com for this purpose too, we have found ours for medium term there. Many landlords prefer 1 year contracts, but 6 months is also common. 2-3 months is considered short term here which can be expensive especially in the summer. For this type of rent the safer bet is Airbnb but there are many agents and owners around. Be careful and expect surprises here For example it's extremely difficult to find properly insulated apartment with modern AC that can efficiently heat the rooms. I would recommend March or April instead of January to get more sunshine. January can be still too rainy.
If you are looking for some rural experience close to the nature I recommend looking around Gozo. Noise can still happen there too, but the situation is mostly much better than on the main island.
