What does it take for a U.S. citizen to move to Canada?

I've lately been thinking about moving north of the border, but not sure how straight-forward that would be... I don't mind applying for some sort of temporary residency first (as I'm not sure if I would want to stay long term yet). What are the main options for U.S. citizens to move to Canada? I don't have any family there, or anything like that.

The easiest way would be to have some kind of trade skill which you can apply with so you can get some kind of workers visa. Other than that all information can be found in the provided link.
