I'm a Brit who's been living in Japan for 14 years now so I think I've
got the catch when it comes to weather. There's basically five seasons -
your usual four and then a massively rainy season around the end of
May. Summers are extremely hot and humid - I would suggest planning your wardrobe ahead - lots of cotton materials, you'll absolutely die in
jeans and other heavy clothing. Spring and autumn are pretty standard
except for the floods at the end of the spring seasons. Winters can get
quite nippy, it doesn't snow loads but it can get quite cold. So
basically, what you should prepare for is all four seasons in all their
glory - get a suitable wardrobe for every season and you should be
a-okay, really.
