What's the startup scene like in São Paulo?

Hi guys! I'm just wondering what the startup scene is like in SP? Are there any good companies coming out of there? In which industries? What part of the city has a high concentration of startups?

Yes, we do have a startup ecosystem in São Paulo. We have coworking spaces, accelerators, some VCs and lots of events targeted to Startups. Most are tech startups. They are mostly concentrated around Berrini Region - Zona Sul (South Zone) (Itaim, Vila Olimpia, Brooklin) or around Paulista avenue.

There are a few promising companies and the one everyone's looking at right now is Nubank, a fintech startup.

Most startup companies here are focused on tech and they are concentrated in the Paulista Avenue region, as well as Berrini, Faria Lima and Itam Bibi.

There is a good startup scene in São Paulo, most of the startups are focused in hardware tech and IT but some of them are moving to São José dos Campos, because of the proximity with 2 research entities (INPE and ITA), there are a good investiment in startups there due to a great accelerator.
